Cue Ball applies a research driven, theme based approach to each of our investments. All of the investment professionals at Cue Ball have been members of a leading advisory firm and the Partners of Cue Ball were also all former Partners at top consulting firms. Assessment of an opportunity for Cue Ball begins with a proprietary screening process in which we measure businesses against top quintile metrics, growth indicators, and thresholds for entry within our four priority sub-segments of: lifestyle brands & services, specialty retail & restaurants, information data services, and internet / social media.

We believe that the most important work comes after an investment has been made. We work alongside management to determine the highest strategic priorities, and develop hypothesis driven and impact focused 30/60/90/120 day plans to address the top strategic issues. We apply benchmarks against industry best practices in functional and tactical areas such as: basic growth strategy and business model, finance (systems, dashboard, budget), sales, marketing & distribution, and operational infrastructure. We strive to ensure that resources are aligned with strategy and that realistic operating metrics can be put in place.
