Etymology

We wanted a name that rang true with our vision, sounded good to the ear, and didn't require us to adopt the suffix of a foreign nation to get the domain name. In particular, we love the following characteristics and connotations of a cue ball:

We look to be leaders and find a clear analogy in the cue ball’s purpose: it breaks the pack and leads each subsequent shot. What's more, the simplicity and understatement of a cue ball are two of the core characteristics we seek in business models. And just as there is an art and science to successful business building, so do physics conspire with creative shot-making and a little luck to win in billiards.
